Do You Need AppleCare on a Refurbished Mac?
Not necessarily. If your refurbished Mac already comes with a warranty (ours includes 1 year whole-machine), AppleCare is optional. It mainly adds accidental-damage coverage and Apple's phone support. For most buyers a solid included warranty plus a local repair shop covers the real risks for less.
What AppleCare adds
AppleCare+ extends hardware coverage and, importantly, adds accidental-damage protection (drops, spills) for a per-incident fee. It also gives you 24/7 Apple phone support. Whether that's worth the cost depends on how clumsy you are and whether you already have a warranty.
What our warranty already covers
Every Luxury Certified Mac includes a 1-year whole-machine warranty: if it fails on its own in year one, we replace it. That covers the manufacturing and component-failure risks that matter most. What it doesn't cover is you dropping it — that's the gap AppleCare fills.
