What "Luxury Certified" Refurbished Actually Means
Luxury Certified is LuxuriousComputers' refurbishment standard: every Mac passes a full functional test, has 80%+ battery health, no cracked screen or missing keys, a clean chassis, is wiped to factory settings, and ships with a 1-year whole-machine warranty plus a 30-day money-back guarantee.
The certification checklist
Every Mac is checked for: battery health (must be 80%+), screen condition (no cracks, no dead pixels, no burn-in), keyboard and trackpad function, every port and the camera, speakers and mics, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Activation Lock removal. It then gets a clean macOS install and a cosmetic clean-up.
The warranty behind it
The certification is only as good as what stands behind it. Ours is a 1-year whole-machine warranty: if a certified Mac fails on its own in the first year, we replace the machine — we don't send it out for a multi-week repair. Plus a 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't right for you.
How it differs from "used" or "as-is"
"Used" and "as-is" mean exactly what they say — no testing promised, no warranty. Luxury Certified means the work is done and guaranteed. That's the difference between hoping and knowing.
Frequently asked questions
Is Luxury Certified the same as Apple Certified Refurbished? +
No — Apple Certified Refurbished is Apple's own program with AppleCare eligibility. Luxury Certified is our independent standard with our own 1-year warranty. Different program, similar peace of mind, lower price.
What battery health do Luxury Certified Macs have? +
A minimum of 80% battery health at the time of sale. Many are well above that. We'll tell you the exact figure for any unit before you buy.
Does Luxury Certified include a warranty? +
Yes — a 1-year whole-machine warranty plus a 30-day money-back guarantee on every certified Mac.
