Broken iMac?
We'll buy it.
Apple quotes $0 for any iMac with a cracked screen or one that won't power on — and charges $600+ to replace a 24" display. We quote from parts value: M-series logic boards, 4.5K and 5K panels, and power supplies all have a real secondary market. Bring it in and walk out with credit toward a working Mac the same day.

We buy iMacs in all conditions
Cracked screen or glass
The 24" iMac's 4.5K display is laminated glass — one corner hit and the whole panel spiders. But the logic board, power supply, speakers, camera, and stand are untouched. On M-series iMacs that board alone carries real parts value, so a cracked iMac is far from worthless.
Won't turn on / completely dead
A dead iMac is usually one failed component — power supply, SSD, or a board-level fault — sitting inside an otherwise healthy machine. The 4.5K or 5K display panel is often the single most valuable part, and it survives most power failures completely intact.
Lines, ghosting, or dead display
Vertical stripes, dark patches, or a backlight that never comes on. The computer underneath usually still works perfectly — we can confirm on the bench over Thunderbolt. A working board with a bad panel still earns meaningful credit.
Old, slow, or stuck on old macOS
Intel iMacs that can't run the latest macOS still have value — 5K panels from 2017–2020 27" models are in steady demand, and working machines resell to budget buyers. Don't let a "vintage" label from Apple convince you it's worth zero.
Frequently asked questions
Do you buy broken iMacs?
Yes — iMac 24" (M1 and M3), iMac 27" 5K, and iMac 21.5" models from 2017 and newer. We buy them with cracked screens, dead power supplies, display failures, and machines that won't boot at all. The damage sets the credit amount, not whether we'll take it.
How much is a broken iMac worth?
It depends on the model and the failure. A cracked iMac 24" M3 earns $180–$320, a cracked M1 earns $120–$220, and a dead 27" 5K earns $60–$140. Older 21.5" Intel models with damage earn $25–$70. Call (740) 223-5530 with your model year for an exact quote.
Will Apple take my broken iMac as a trade-in?
No. Apple's trade-in program pays $0 for any iMac with a cracked screen, display failure, or a machine that won't power on — and their out-of-warranty display replacement on a 24" iMac runs $600+. We buy what Apple turns away because we price from recoverable parts, not retail condition.
My iMac is huge — do I really have to bring it in?
Walking it in is fastest (we quote in about 15 minutes), but you don't have to. For working-condition questions we can do a lot over the phone or from photos texted to (740) 223-5530. If you're shipping, use the original box if you have it — otherwise call us first and we'll talk through safe packing for an all-in-one.
The screen is cracked but the computer still works — is that worth more?
Yes, significantly. A cracked iMac that still boots means the logic board, SSD, power supply, camera, and speakers are all confirmed healthy — only the panel is a known cost. Working-but-cracked machines quote noticeably higher than dead ones.
How do I erase my data if the iMac won't turn on?
If it boots, erase it yourself via System Settings > General > Transfer or Reset. If it won't boot, sign the machine out of your Apple ID at icloud.com/find and remove it from your devices. We also perform a verified secure wipe on every drive at the bench — no customer data ever leaves our shop.
Do you buy Intel iMacs or only Apple Silicon?
Both. Intel iMacs from 2017 and newer still have active parts markets — especially the 27" 5K panels, which are used for repairs and even standalone-display conversions. The older the model, the more the credit leans on the display and chassis rather than the board.
Can I trade a broken iMac toward a MacBook or Mac mini?
Absolutely — it's one of the most common moves we see. Desktop users downsizing to a laptop bring in the broken iMac, we quote it on the bench, and the credit applies same day toward any MacBook, Mac mini, or iMac in our inventory.
