Horse country buys deliberately — and keeps what it buys
Waite Hill is 543 people, two-acre-minimum lots, bridle paths instead of sidewalks, and not a single storefront — one of the wealthiest villages in Ohio by nearly every measure, with a median household income north of $160,000 and homes averaging well past $700,000. Money like that does not chase stickers. It buys the right thing once and keeps it running for years — the same reason there are more horses than traffic lights in the 44094.
The nearest Apple Store is Apple Eton in Woodmere, a solid 25-minute drive down I-90 and Chagrin Boulevard, where a brand-new MacBook Air starts at $1,250. Our refurbished M1 MacBook Air is $569.99 and the M2 Air is $974.99 — shipped free to your door, insured, with a full one-year whole-machine warranty. Same macOS, same daily experience, roughly half the money, and no reason to leave the hill.
Why Waite Hill buyers order in
- Deliberate money does the math. An M1 or M2 Air runs Safari, Google Docs, Zoom, and email exactly the way a $1,250–$1,720 new Air does. The difference lives in benchmarks nobody in a home office ever runs.
- A longer warranty than the mall gives you. Apple's standard coverage is one year on a new Mac — and 90 days on most refurbished channels. Ours is a full one-year, whole-machine warranty on every unit, no questions asked.
- No 25-minute drive to Eton. Order tonight and it arrives at your door, insured, with free shipping and no minimum order.
What Waite Hill buyers are picking up — current prices
- MacBook Air M1 13″ — $569.99. The best value in the lineup. Silent (no fan), all-day battery, perfect for anyone whose day lives in a browser.
- MacBook Air M2 13″ — $974.99. The one most people should buy: newer design, brighter screen, MagSafe charging, and years of macOS updates ahead of it.
- Mac mini M2 — $897.99. The home-office desk machine. Pair it with any monitor and keyboard and you have a fast, quiet workstation for a fraction of an iMac.
- MacBook Pro 14″ M1 Pro — $899.99. For photo and video work, big spreadsheets, and anyone who wants the Liquid Retina XDR screen and extra ports.
- MacBook Air M3 15″ — $1,280. The big-screen Air — the closest thing to a new-Mac experience on this list, still under Apple's 13-inch starting price.

Built for estate offices, barn-side laptops, and the long view
The home office with a view of the paddock. Plenty of Waite Hill workdays happen at a desk overlooking a pasture. Our remote-work guide makes the case that a Mac mini M2 at $897.99 plus the monitor you already own is the sharpest home-office setup in Lake County — silent, fast, and half the price of an iMac.
Students and teachers on both sides of the village line. Waite Hill splits between Kirtland and Willoughby-Eastlake schools, and both districts' classwork runs in a browser — which the $569.99 M1 Air handles flawlessly. Our guide for teachers and our college rundown both land on the Air, refurbished.
Buyers who keep things for a decade. The median resident here is in their mid-fifties and has watched every upgrade cycle come and go. An M-series Mac gets years of macOS updates ahead of it — the long view says buy it tested, warrantied, and at half the sticker.
